During the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon, the connection between China and the world remains busy. At Shanghai Yangshan Port, the small import and export peak that occurred before the Spring Festival in previous years has continued until the Spring Festival this year.
At Shanghai’s Yangshan Deepwater Port, all the berths on the shore are full of large container ships.
Since January this year, the container throughput of Yangshan Port’s largest terminal has exceeded 850,000 TEUs, a record high for the same period in history. During the Spring Festival, the usual work rhythm here is still the same, ensuring that the port does not stop working 24 hours a day.
Chen Jianfeng, duty manager of Shengdong Terminal of Shanghai Yangshan Port, said, "All 39 of our bridge cranes have been put into actual production operations, and on average one loading and unloading task is completed every 2 minutes. Compared with the same period last year, the loading and unloading volume of our terminal has increased. 15% to 20%.”
During the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon, "Yiwu-Xiangjiang-Europe" delivered Chinese products such as new energy vehicles, mobile phones, and computers to more than 50 countries and more than 160 cities at a frequency of 8 trains per day.
Feng Xubin, chairman of Yiwu "Yiwu-Xiangjiang-Europe" Trading Service Group, said, "This is also our tenth Spring Festival without closing. This year is a little busier than in previous years. From the New Year's Eve to the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, we issued a total of more than 68 series. There were also more and more high-tech and high value-added products.”
During this Spring Festival, an average of 30 China-Europe freight trains depart from China to the world every day. Since the beginning of this year, more than 1,800 China-Europe freight trains have operated, establishing an important trade channel between the Eurasian continent. It connects 112 cities in China and 219 cities in 25 European countries.
